Dooley, Reynolds, and Abate Earn ECAC Men's Lacrosse Regional Honors

Danbury, Conn. - May 23, 2017 - The Springfield College men's lacrosse team had three student-athletes earn Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III North recognition.  Brendan Dooley (Setauket, N.Y.) was tabbed an ECAC North First-Team selection, while Dom Abate (Beverly, Mass.) and Jake Reynolds (Scituate, Mass.) were ECAC North Second-Team honorees.

Dooley, who was 2017 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Lacrosse Athlete of the Year, had another incredible season as he has notched 27 caused turnovers and 39 ground balls to go along with 10 goals and eight assists as a short stick defensive midfielder.  The Criminal Justice major was a two-time conference player of the year and was chosen to the all-conference first team all four years of his career. 

Reynolds garnered regional honors following a junior campaign in which he was previously named the inaugural NEWMAC Defensive Athlete of the Year.  The Health Care Management major registered a .591 save percentage, making 214 saves, to go along with a 9.32 goals against average.  Additionally,Reynolds had 13 games with double-digit saves, including three games with at least 20 stops. 

Abate had a strong final year in maroon and white leading Springfield's midfield unit.  The Sports Biology major scored 20 goals and added 11 assists for 31 points, and had nine games this year where he tallied at least two points en route to also earning NEWMAC All-Conference First Team honors.
