Men's Swimming and Diving Opens Up 7th Annual Ithaca College Invitational

Ithaca, N.Y. - December 1, 2017 - The Springfield College men's swimming and diving team competed in the opening session of the 7th annual Ithaca College Invitational, hosted in the Aquatics Pavilion on Friday night. 

Leading the Pride off in the 500 freestyle, Sean Harnish (Middlebury, Conn.) was the Pride's top finisher with a time of 4:55.51, finishing just ahead of Nicholas Smith (Longmeadow, Mass.), who finished two places behind with a mark of 4:55.96. Senior Kent Parsons (Hamilton, Mass.) took 14th overall in the 200 individual medley, clocking in at 1:58.91, while in the 50 freestyle, Springfield College was led by Sean Mitchell (Canton, Mass.), who touched in 22.21 seconds.

Lastly, in the 200 medley relay, the team of Harnish, Parsons, Tim DeCoste (Greenville, R.I.) and Mitchell finished 10th overall with a time of 1:38.18. 

Springfield College will return to the pool on Saturday, December 2, as it will compete in Day 2 of the three-day meet at 10 a.m.
