Drobiak Garners Google Drive Academic All-District Honors Selected by CoSIDA

Springfield, Mass. - May 14, 2018 - Senior Kirsten Drobiak (Griswold, Conn.) of the Springfield College softball team was honored for her hard work both in the classroom and on the field as she earned Google Drive Academic All-District honors, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) late last week.

Drobiak, who also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors in 2017, is now eligible for Academic All-America accolades, which will be voted upon later this spring.

It was a dominant year for Drobiak, as she helped lead Springfield College softball team to an overall record of 26-13, including a 9-1 record during the team's Spring Break trip in Florida. Drobiak finished the season at the top of the Pride's statistical hitting charts, as she produced 42 RBI while batting .410. Drobiak finished the year with 55 hits in 134 at bats, as she scored 39 runs, picked up 16 doubles, eight home runs, and was walked 13 times. During the 10-game trip down south, Drobiak collected 20 RBI on six home runs while batting .526 in 38 at bats.

As impressive as she was on the field, Drobiak was also able to maintain a grade-point average of 3.79 in a rigorous Physician Assistant program at Springfield College. Drobiak was one of six student-athletes to represent the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) on the Google Drive Academic All-District team, as the six student-athletes from the NEWMAC made up more than half of the representatives from the New England region.
