Women's Tennis Eases Past Roger Williams, 7-2

Orlando, Fla. - March 12, 2018 - The Springfield College women's tennis eased past Roger Williams, 7-2, on Monday as it competed in Florida for the first time this week.

Beginning the day with doubles action, Springfield picked up a pair of points after Emily Etter (Guilford, Conn.) and Cara Freadman (Richmond, Mass.) scored an 8-2 victory at the top spot and Melissa Parrish (Framingham, Mass.) and Addie Kendall (Lakeville, Mass.) cruised to an 8-2 win at No. 2.

Carrying the momentum into singles play, Springfield earned wins in five of the matches.  Etter breezed past her opponent at No. 2, 6-1, 6-1, while Freadman delivered a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1.   Parrish took down the point at No. 5 singles by a 6-4, 6-1 margin, Rachel Ahlmeyer (Morris Plains, N.Y.) earned a 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 6, and Rachel Litchfield (Northbridge, Mass.) rallied for a 6-2, 2-6, 10-8 to complete the Pride's efforts.

The Pride will compete again on Tuesday at 12:30 against St. Scholastica.
