Danbury, Conn. - February 19, 2020 - After leading the Springfield College men's gymnastics team to their best score of the season, the duo of Stephen Lewis (Baltimore, Md.) and Dominic Ramalho (Hollis, N.H.) were honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). Lewis was named the Gymnast of the Week for the third time this season, while Ramalho earned Rookie of the Week recognition as they helped the Pride best Temple and the University of Washington last Sunday.
Lewis, who is a majoring in Computer Graphics and Design, finished first in the all-around competition scoring a season-high 79.250. The senior dominated the floor competition with a winning mark of 14.100, placed second in the pommel horse with a 12.700, and also finished second in the rings competition with a 13.400.
A first-year Health Science major, Ramalho had a tremendous showing in the all-around, totaling a career-high 76.550. He took second on the vault with a 14.300 and was also second on the parallel bars following a career-best score of 12.850.
On Sunday, Springfield will travel to Virginia to take on William & Mary at 1 pm.
