After an accomplished four-year career with the Springfield College men's tennis program, Tanner DeVarennes '17 will return to the Appleton Courts as a graduate assistant coach for the Pride during the 2017-18 academic year. After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Sport Management, DeVarennes will work to obtain his Master's degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Advanced Level Coaching.
DeVarennes, a Lee, Mass. native, ended his career at Springfield College with an overall record of 36-19 playing No. 1 singles, while he was also a two-time NEWMAC All-Conference student-athlete, recognized following his impressive junior and senior seasons. Additionally, after an outstanding freshman season with the Pride, DeVarennes was named the NEWMAC Men's Tennis Rookie of the Year in 2014.
